He alone, O Nanak, knoweth the way who eats out of what he earneth by his honest labour and yet shareth part of it with others" (GG,1245).

Greater Buffalo has seen a constant increase of Sikhs either arriving directly from India whilst others coming from jurisdictions within USA. With Waheguru’s grace, the Sikh Cultural and Educational Society of WNY., established in 1992, has grown steadily in numbers and in strength. Our congregation has increased from approximately 10 to over 350 families in greater buffalo region. Our programs have expanded from once a month to fortnightly to weekly to daily from private homes to the existing 6569 Main Street Gurdwara Sahib building.

Buffalo Gurdwara Sahib congregation has outgrown its current home and is in need of a new building to address the growing needs of our congregation and local Sikh community.  The estimated cost of the building construction project is approx. $2 Million. We need the support of our congregation as well as the benevolence of community members and leaders like you to help us reach our goal!

You may or may not be aware, in addition to Sunday services (and Sikh religious holidays), Buffalo Gurdwara Sahib hosts Punjabi/Gurmat school classes weekly for our children, annual summer youth camp, youth symposiums, community open-house, along with many activities which promote goodwill and understanding of persons of all creeds and faiths, particularly benefitting our local community.   A free meal (Langar) is also prepared and served every weekend and during Sikh religious holidays.

The design concept for the new building construction takes into consideration the variety of activities and the needs of the congregation and our community. The new building will allow for functional classroom space for Sunday school, efficient kitchen with commercial appliances to allow for the preparation of Langar, library, food pantry, creative space for community projects, as well as allow us to house our worship services, youth and children programs and so much more.  We are looking forward to creating this space for our congregation and community members and would appreciate your support for this project.

With the grace of Guru we are hopeful to secure the building permit by March 2020 and depending upon the funds start the construction by spring 2020. Please consider contributing to help us work toward our mission. As a 501 (c) (3) organization, we will provide a tax receipt for all donations.

On behalf of the Buffalo Gurdwara Sahib and Buffalo Sikh community, we thank you in advance for your support in ensuring the future of our place of worship and our Sikh community.

Contributions to the Buffalo Gurdwara Sahib cover the maintenance of the land and services the Gurdwara Sahib, including buildings, equipment, supplies, utilities, insurance, lawn maintenance, snow plowing and salary of Granthi etc. Note: The project could be delayed by few months because of COVID-19 situation.
